Family mealtime strategies:
- Expose your child to a variety of foods including a range of fruits and vegetables. Ensure the child is exposed to the same food on multiple occasions.
- Encourage your child to engage by making family mealtime food choices and get involved in meal preparation.
- Avoid any distractions such as watching TV at mealtimes. This will help your child eat more mindfully and focus on the task at hand.
- Aim for multiple shared family meals throughout the day/week. This is a great opportunity to teach your child mealtime practices and to demonstrate positive role modelling.
Allowing your child to engage in meal preparation and planning is a great way to expose them to different foods and empower them to make positive food choices!
