This unit examines recommended foods to fuel the body, before, during and after exercise, focusing on how dietary choices impact athletic performance and health. Through hands-on activities, students learn about carbohydrates, protein and fats, and their roles in energy provision and body function. They apply their knowledge through designing a personalised food plan as well as a nutritious snack fit for an athlete, emphasising the importance of fuelling for performance and making informed food choices.
