In this unit, students learn the differences between food allergies and intolerances and how these can influence an individual’s food choices. Students research a specific food allergy or intolerance, accessing credible information through resources such as Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia. Students also learn about coeliac disease as another food-related condition. To apply their knowledge, students collaborate to design a menu accommodating both coeliac disease and nut allergies.
