This unit has been temporarily removed as we work on updating our resources to be consistent with 2024/25 food and wellbeing curriculum changes. Updated resources will be available early 2025.
If you would still like access to this unit prior to its review and update, please contact the freshSNAP team and we can send you a copy.

In this unit, students explore the roles and importance of energy, nutrients, fibre, and water as well as links between nutrient intake and recommended intake of food groups outlined in the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating. The Australian Dietary Guidelines to limit foods containing saturated fat, added salt, added sugars and alcohol is also examined in the context of the Five Food Groups and discretionary foods. Students use this information to determine their energy and food group needs and to assess and improve their usual food intake.
