  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs (fresh)
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp dried Italian herbs
  • 3 tsp garlic, crushed
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp dried oregano


  1. Combine meat ball ingredients (beef mince, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, flour, dried Italian
    herbs) and form into small walnut size balls and brown in a pan using olive oil. Put aside.
  2. For sauce fry onion and garlic, add canned tomatoes and oregano. Simmer until reduced.
  3. Add meatballs and continue to simmer until heated through and sauce is thickened.
  4. Serve on top of pasta or served in a crusty roll topped with cheese for a meatball sub.
